Description
The FedCloud Virtual Organization brings together sites and users interested
in running cloud services, testing compatibility and integrating cloud sites
into EGI operations infrastructure. VO is connected to task TSA2.6 (Fededated
Cloud Task Force).
Members identify and test technologies, deploy and operate services in a
federated cloud. The system is currently in a test bed state, but several of
its sites are already available for international research collaborations to
use. Purpose of VO is to test usability and level of integration using
nearly-production computations.

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all members of fedcloud.egi.eu Virtual Organisation, hereafter referred to as the VO, with reference to use of the European Grid Infrastructure, hereafter referred to as EGI. The VO owns and gives authority to this policy.
Goal and description of the VO

The fedcloud.egi.eu virtual organization brings together cloud computing and human resources to support the evolution of cloud-based scientific, and cloud development activities by:
- Providing a platform for application prototyping and validation.
- Acting as an infrastructure for piloting and demonstrating cloud-based scientific applications.
- Being an infrastructure for cloud-related system and technology testing and validation activities.
Those who are porting their software to this VO are expected to migrate to another cloud VO after the porting and validation phases. These phases should not last more than 6 months. The resources within the VO are expected to cover the full range of cloud functionality that is operating at a production level in the EGI Federated Cloud. The use of these services will help new users better understand the capabilities they wish to support within their own, long-term VOs for successful application setups.
Users
The above goals require that two groups of people must have access to resources in this VO:
1. Users who are porting applications with the help of the EGI/NGI Support teams (request such support at support@egi.eu).
2. Support staff from the EGI Federated Cloud activity.
The end users' memberships should not be longer than 6 months. The support staff may remain in the VO indefinitely.
Requirements for Sites
Because porting of new or innovative applications by new communities is a large part of the work that will be carried out within this VO, it is essential that the participating sites provide certified and reliable services within this VO. For further information contact support@egi.eu.
